The following portrait photos have been created during a workshop session I did with the Tegeler Photo Group. The photos are created in a studio setup with 1-3 remote triggered flashes.
Toscana Italy Summer 2017
In this posts I want to show some shots I made during our Toscana trip last year. The trip started and ended in Pisa. In the beginning we used the train to Lucca and Florence, where we rented a car. The other destination of the trip have been San Gimignano, Siena, the island Elba, Volterra. The Toscana has endless beautiful places and is worth more than one journey.
Lisboa Autumn 2017
Today, I have more material from the last year, which I have reviewed during the christmas holidays.
Below you see some photos I made during a short stay of 3 days in Lisboa. Lisboa is really a charming and beautiful city. I love the hilly landscape of the city providing you many spots with a great view, so called “Miradouros” in Portuguese. Moreover, the historical trams moving through the city are looking beautiful and are as well worth a ride with everything creaking and shaking.
Japan Spring 2017 – Nagoya and Kyoto
Currently, I have some more time for reviewing my photos of this year, because of the christmas holidays and for that reason, here comes something new.
In spring 2017 I had a short business trip to Nagoya (ICCAR Conference) for about 4 nights. Fortunately, I also found some time to go around and due to my later return flight I was able to make a one day trip to Kyoto (~45min with the bullet train).

Batch processing – Resizing and embedding watermarks into images using ImageMagick for Windows and Linux
As a response to a recent question I came across, I want to share a simple bash script for embedding a watermark image/logo and resizing multiple images at the same time for online publishing.
In order to use the script below you need to install imagemagick and if you are using Windows you either have to install the cygwin environment or you would have to rewrite this simple script as a bat script.

In most Linux systems you can just install it using your distros package manager, for instance

Your watermark image/logo should be a PNG file due to the transparency support of PNG.

The watermarked and resized pictures will be stored in the subdirectory “watermarked”.
72h in Prague (May 2016)
The second city trip this year just some weeks after Budapest. Another historic gem of Europe, the famous Prague. In my opinion one of the greatest and most beautiful cities I have seen so far. Even though I really liked Budapest and Prague has much in common with it, considering the general flair, I would definitely prefer Prague over Budapest, if I would need to choose.
