Hi to all users of my Android-x86 build.
Sorry for long period without updates, news or answers. I was maximum busy. I am right now in Asia for a longer time, so development becomes more difficult, because I have only the Acer1825 for building and it is not as fast as my Desktop-PC. I try to release a new build as fast as I can.

Hi guys,
I am very sorry that I have not answered all your comments yet, I try to do it when I have more time. This release is only the long announced development version from me with the first version of the ARM-Emulator included. Its different from current official implementation, because I have no time in the moment to update or work on my build….this situation will remain at least for entire September, because I am currently finishing my master-thesis before I leave the country for a while with destination South Asia… so you could imagine I have a lot things to do and to organize. But for keeping you satisfied this build with included ARM emulator will allow you to play a lot of games from Google Play like the famous Angry Birds. But keep in mind not all apps are working with this emulation but a lot! For everybody who hops I have integrated other drivers e.g. new wifi drivers, new kernel … I am sorry to promise you…no time, I have worked last months 24/7….I try to fulfill your requirements in the future but be patient I do not earn anything from this….

Although I am very busy for several months, because I am working on my master’s thesis project beside my job, I have found some time to finish beta 3 of my custom Android-x86 build. Feel free to donate me a beer if you like or enjoy my work!
If you are new to Android(-x86) on your laptop I suggest you reading over my old postings and the user comments from ICS and honeycomb releases. You will get a better feeling about which things are working (also how they are working) and which not and could get some other clues like how to prepare a bootable usb device, how the prepare for multi-boot and so on.

BETA 3 IS RELEASED : http://www.ceh-photo.de/blog/?p=531
I am very proud to present you beta 2 of my Android-x86 ICS build for the Acer1000 series. Special credits to everybody who helped with testing my prereleases.
If you are new to Android on your Acer laptop/convertible I suggest you reading over my old postings and the user comments from ICS beta 1 and honeycomb releases, because honeycomb is quite similar to ICS in usability and functionality and especially my builds. You will get a better feeling about which things are working and which not and could get some other clues like how to prepare a bootable usb device, how the prepare for multi-boot and so on.

So it takes some/a lot of time to develop this new build (more like expected like every time), but I tried to put as much as possible into beta3. But I struggled hard with the integration of something like a slider mechanism on a phone, if you change from tablet to laptop mode and vice versa. My goal was automatically disabling/enabling onscreen keyboard and locking screen rotation in laptop mode, but it seems like this is one of these things which are not really well implemented in honeycomb and may a reason why google published that code so late (google sayed some things are really hacked together in honeycomb… and if I compare responsible files in honeycomb and ics there are a lot of changes and commented dead code in honeycomb). So the result is, I got really deep in touch with android internals, but I could not solve the problem and decided to step back and publish my new beta 3 without this feature, because I had already done a lot (see below). Inside the tips and information sections I will try to answer some unanswered questions from comments.

[Beta 3 available: http://www.ceh-photo.de/blog/?p=430]
After some positive feedback on beta 1 release of Honeycomb-x86 for Acer1825 series convertible laptops I spend some time (too much time I think ;-)) on improving it.
So now the second release (beta 2) is available:
